5 Reasons to Move to San Diego

It's no secret that San Diego is a vibrant and lively place. Those that call the city home know just how spectacular of a location it really is, whether they live in the city or in the Linda Vista apartmentsl. For those of you who do not, here are 5 reasons why you should consider moving to this stunning California city.

1. The Location is Fantastic

Anyone living in San Diego can tell you that the weather is absolutely fantastic. Ditch your winter clothes and prepare yourself for that ideal 70 degree weather. Does it get any more perfect? Of course it does! This area is home to some of the best beaches around. You won't find anyone in town on a sunny weekend, and for good reason. The waters are warm, and the beaches are as large as they are diverse. You can find fellow sun soakers to highly active bikers to the more laid back fun lovers from Pacific Beach to Mission Bay.

The close proximity to the ocean allows for a very special experience...whale watching! Book a cruise and you can watch dolphins swim alongside and right up to your boat, as well as the gigantic blue whales during their migration. Another nautical highlight is La Jolla Cove where visitors can kayak through the sea caves, or enjoy the wildlife and crystal clear waters of this reserve. It's a little piece of paradise. Another must see natural reserve is Torrey Pines. Untouched, you can climb up the hill to reveal one of the absolute most gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean.

2. Sights to See, Things to Do

As if the Pacific Ocean wasn't enough, there's a SeaWorld too! After getting your fill of viewing aquatic life, head over to the San Diego Zoo to see exotic animals such as elephants, pandas, and the largest koala exhibit outside of Australia. Combine these two attractions with LEGOLAND, and anyone could see why being a kid here would be an amazing experience. If you're into checking locations off of your list, you have to head over to Balboa Park. Home to the zoo, it's an easy two day trip at minimum, but you'll want to come back here throughout the year. Explore the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Global Village, enjoy an outdoor organ show, or stargaze with experts at the Reuben H. Fleet Space Center.

3. Superb Food and Drink

After Portland and San Francisco comes San Diego in 3rd place on Forbes' list for best beer cities. Three major breweries (Stone, Coronado, and Karl Strauss) are all located right here. Bars in the area are filled with unique IPA's and craft selections. There are even two festivals dedicated to all things beer. Along the lines of drinking are some bars worthy of the title "home away from home", but many of these locations are tucked away making them perfect surprise stops on a city wide bar crawl. (If you can last that long!)

All of that booze pairs perfect with San Diego's incredible selection of fresh seafood. One of the top spots on anyone's list is the South Beach Bar and Grille. Known for it's prime spot for viewing sunset on the ocean, patrons can enjoy everything from a standard fish to a shark taco with seasonings and spices to die for. While seafood and Mexican cuisine are abundant, there's a burger joint named Hodad's where you can find a line down the sidewalk night after night, weekday or weekend. It only takes one bite to find out what the fuss is all about.

Those looking for healthier options will find an abundant amount of farmer's markets every night of the week. Each area has different specialties from food trucks to fresh meats. These roaming vendors keep it organic, and GMO free. If that isn't enough to make you smile, you can even catch live music while grocery shopping at Ocean Beach.

While not in the food category, it's worth mentioning that San Diego is brimming with hookah bars. They can make the perfect start, or end, to a night out on the town.

4. Something for Every Season

Spring comes as relief from the cold, harshness of winter for many. In San Diego it means something a little different, being as the weather is always warm and breezy. Head over to Carlsbad Ranch from April to May to see a sea all of its own. The fields here will be covered from head to toe in Riniculas flowers that paint the area in vibrant red, orange, yellow, purple, pink, and white hues. It's really a sight to see, and many become captivated by its beauty. Also occurring in May is the fabulous Cinco De Mayo festival held in Old Town, a more touristy location with some A+ Mexican restaurants. During the festivities, the entire town turns into one big party!

Summertime is, well, beach season as you may have guessed. Get out there and enjoy the ocean! Fall on the other hand ushers in a new variety of fun to be had. Those that reside in the San Diego area can enjoy apple picking at Julian Apple Days, Bates Nut Farm's famous pumpkin patch, or even scare themselves senseless at The Haunted Trail and The eXperiment at Balboa Park. Each of these attractions pairs perfectly with wine tastings and seasonal coffees.

Balboa Park also features an out of this world light display each and every December. It might not glisten off of freshly fallen snow, but that doesn't detract from it's beauty. All of the museums in and around the park even open their doors to the public for two days of Holiday wonder and magic. It's something you won't want to miss!

5. Linda Vista Apartments
